AI paraphrasing tool

Select. Choose a tone. Rewrite — without leaving your editor.

Highlight any text in your note and rewrite it in the tone you need — formal, casual, concise, or persuasive. Works on a single sentence or a full paragraph. Citations survive the rewrite. Undo is always there. Your draft stays in your workspace.

Four tone modes

Formal

Academic, professional, boardroom-ready phrasing.

Casual

Relaxed, conversational, easy to read.

Concise

Removes filler, tightens every sentence.

Persuasive

Sharpens the argument, strengthens verbs.

Select and rewrite in one step

Highlight any sentence, paragraph, or section in your note and choose Rewrite from the inline toolbar. The AI rephrases in context — it considers the sentences before and after so the rewrite flows naturally.

Choose tone: formal, casual, concise, or persuasive

Pick the register you need before hitting rewrite. Academic language becomes plain English, casual phrasing becomes boardroom-ready, dense paragraphs compress into punchy summaries — the meaning stays intact.

Shorten or expand, not just rephrase

Run Shorten to cut a rambling paragraph to one tight sentence. Run Expand to flesh out a bullet into a full explanation. Both operations respect your source material and cite it when you have sources attached.

Paraphrase a full document into a channel variant

Use the repurpose operation to convert a long-form article into a LinkedIn post, a newsletter excerpt, or a Twitter/X thread — with the tone and length tuned per channel automatically. A full-document paraphrase, not a selection.

Preserves meaning, no hallucinations

The AI paraphrases what you wrote — it does not add unsupported claims or invent facts. If you attach sources, inline citations survive the rewrite so every factual claim still traces back to a real passage.

Your draft stays in your workspace

Every rewrite is applied in place to your note, saved automatically. No copy-paste to an external tool, no lost sessions. Undo is always available and the original wording is preserved in note history.

Frequently asked questions

Will paraphrasing change the meaning of my text?

The AI is instructed to preserve meaning while improving clarity or adjusting tone. It reads the selected text plus surrounding context before rewriting. For academic content, we recommend reviewing the output to confirm the argument is intact — particularly for nuanced claims.

Can I paraphrase a full document, not just a selection?

Yes. For selection-level rewriting, use the inline toolbar. For full-document channel variants (LinkedIn, newsletter, X thread), use the repurpose operation — it tunes tone, length, and format per platform, producing a derived note that links back to the original.

Does it work for academic writing?

Yes. Select the passage you want to rephrase, choose Formal tone, and run Rewrite. Citations attached to the original passage survive the rewrite. For avoiding self-plagiarism across multiple papers, the paraphrase is meaningfully different in structure and phrasing.

Is it plagiarism-safe?

The tool rewrites your own text or source material that you have rights to. It does not copy from the web or training data. Outputs are structurally different from the input and grounded in the content you provided.

Can I change the language as well as the phrasing?

Inline rewrite works within one language. For cross-language paraphrase — translating and rephrasing into another language while preserving your author voice — use the translate operation, which creates a derived node with hreflang metadata.

Is it free?

Yes — the inline rewrite and shorten/expand actions are free for any note. Paid tiers unlock higher usage limits, the full-document repurpose operation with per-channel tuning, and batch paraphrase across a collection of notes.
